Sustainable Labels: Environmentally Friendly Reel-Fed Label Production

Production in our label printing plant is optimised as far as possible with regard to ecological aspects. We take environmentally relevant aspects into account when printing your self-adhesive labels:

With our HP Indigo, we print with reduced CO2 emissions and, in contrast to offset printing, thanks to digital printing we do not need long lead times for printing presses, which means that we produce hardly any environmentally polluting waste and residues. Another advantage of digital printing is that it does not require chemically treated printing plates. Press set-up is also fast, so it only works to produce. This not only saves time, but also electricity and material. Another step towards an ecologically optimised and sustainable production is the purchase of 100% green electricity, directly from the neighbouring solar park in the Föhren Industrial Estate (IRT). Of course, we use FSC-certified, recyclable or recycled paper and foil for your stickers on request. FSC-certified Materials

logo-fsc Your customers make a conscious decision for or against a product. The trend shows: Purchasing decisions increasingly depend on ecological aspects. In order to offer our customers labels that use resources and our environment responsibly, we offer FSC® certified materials (FSC® Mix Credit).

What Does FSC® Mix Credit Mean?

Materials from FSC® certified forests as well as recycled materials have been used in the production of this material. At etiqueta.es we use the FSC® 70% mix, which means that at least 70% of the material comes from FSC® certified forests.

Hay Paper with Vegetable Fibres

This paper consists of 30% sun-dried grass fibre (hay) and 70% FSC® certified paper. Grass paper is made from the rapidly renewable raw material grass, which reduces wood consumption and makes it particularly sustainable. It also reduces CO2 emissions and water consumption by up to 50%. Find out more about grass paper now.

Removable Labels

At etiqueta.es you can get removable labels. They can be easily removed from the product and can even be repositioned. Our bleach soluble labels, called WSA labels, are especially suitable for the beverage industry. They can be removed again from the bottle by means of a bleach solution and thus allow separate reuse/recycling of the bottle and label.

The removal of labels by means of a bleach solution depends on several factors.

Among them are:

• proportion of printing ink, protective liner, hot foil.
• temperature/alkaline content of the caustic solution
• water absorption capacity of the paper
• product storage
• general/individual material properties

Basically, it is important to ensure that self-adhesive labels are stored protected from UV radiation and the effects of weathering, and that moisture is avoided at all costs. If stored properly, we guarantee optimum adhesion of our labels for 12 months after production.

Recycled Paper

Recycled paper is also part of our range. It is available in coated and uncoated versions. The difference to other FSC® certified materials, which also consist of a proportion of recycled materials: our recycled paper consists (depending on the variant) of 100% or 99% recycled fibres.
