Who are you? Tell us a little about yourself.
My name is Katharina and I am 29 years old. I would say that my open-minded attitude and my sense of humor are an important part of my personality. I also like to laugh a lot and very loudly, much to the chagrin of my colleagues. Aside from my passion for laughing, I love anything that has to do with the written or spoken word. I love to read and I get so excited about writing. I also really enjoy attending poetry readings. Painting stories with words is what makes my little heart rejoice. My favorite literary genres are dystopian fiction, fantasy, and feminist literature: the variety keeps me on my toes.

What has your professional career been like so far?
I have a degree in English and German Philology. During my studies I worked mainly in the retail sector to pay the rent. Working with people was (almost) always something I enjoyed and helped me to form my character. When I decided it was time for a change of scenery, I sent several applications, one of them to etiqueta.es. It was a pretty spontaneous decision and I am very happy and grateful that I made it. I started working part-time in marketing and, since I finished my master’s degree, I work here full-time.
How did you find your way to etiqueta.es?
After finishing my degree, I knew I didn’t want to continue working in the retail industry. So I started looking for different possibilities and researching what I could do with my degree. During my search, I came across an ad on etiqueta.es where they were looking for an online marketing copywriter. It was something I liked, so I sent in my application.
Already at the first interview I felt very welcome and I really liked the atmosphere and the connection between people. So of course I was expecting a positive response, and luckily I didn’t have to wait long! They invited me to spend a day working there, to see if I liked the company, meet the team and check if I fit in with the work they wanted me to do. It seems they were quite happy with me that day, because shortly after they offered me to sign a contract.
What is your role at etiqueta.es, and what does your daily work look like?
I am responsible for creating and revising the content of our website. That means I am in charge of maintaining our landing pages and optimizing them to improve our search engine rankings. In addition, I prepare posts for our social media channels and write articles for the blog on a regular basis. Recently I have also been assigned the responsibility for our monthly newsletter, so now I write one newsletter per month.
In addition, I support the other markets in which we operate with their newsletters. In this project I work closely with my international colleagues, advising them on their strategies and content, and providing them with information on metrics such as click-through and open rates. In this way, I can share with them both qualitative and quantitative feedback, and contribute to the success of their marketing strategies. In short, every day is a little different for me.
What makes your job special?
For me, the special thing is that I can work autonomously in most cases. This makes me feel that people trust my work and, of course, that is very rewarding. In addition, there is always the possibility of further training and education, as well as expanding or changing the scope of responsibilities. This dynamic work ethic creates an environment that makes me enjoy coming to work every day.
What makes etiqueta.es a great employer?
etiqueta.es is the first company where I feel valued as a person and where my mental and physical health are a priority. In my experience, that’s unusual. This kind of care and appreciation is reflected in the relationship between all team members. Everyone is respectful, kind and open. This creates an environment where we can all be ourselves.
What has been your highlight at etiqueta.es so far?
There have been a couple of highlights! The last one, however, was our last business trip, where we attended an exhibition on online marketing where experts in the field shared their knowledge and opinions. These two days have been very enriching for me, some of which I have already been able to put into practice!
